OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS

Situated on the southern tip of Whangarei Harbour, Marsden Point and the greater Marsden Point area is one of the fastest growing regions in New Zealand. Blessed with a natural deep water port and easy access to Auckland via the state highway network the region has a high level of vacant industrial-zoned land and infrastructure capacity to accommodate industrial and processing sectors. Industry leaders including Refining NZ (New Zealand's only oil refinery), Northport (New Zealand's northern most multi purpose port) and Carter Holt Harvey's LVL Plant are but a few who have already chosen Marsden Point as their home. If you are a new or established business looking to relocate, there has never been a better time to get a foot in the door. Marsden Maritime is one of the biggest land holders on The Point, with 185ha of leasehold land available, 25ha of which is zoned Business 2 Light and the balance as Business 4 Heavy and Port Zone.

OUR REGION

Sun drenched coastlines, pristine white sandy surf beaches surrounded by small environmentally protected Islands, Marsden Point sounds more like a tourist destination than an industrial powerhouse, but it is this unique environment of available industrial, business and retail zoned land coupled with a world class lifestyle that is enticing many new businesses to relocate to our region.

LOCATION

Marsden Point lays 30 kilometres southeast of Whangarei and only a one hour 30 minute drive from Auckland, New Zealand's largest city. The mostly flat terrain forms the south-eastern tip of the entrance to the Whangarei Harbour on the east coast of Northland, New Zealand. The Greater Marsden Point area extends from One Tree Point within the Whangarei Harbour, to just south of the Ruakaka township on the coast, a total land area of some 2,500 hectares.

TRANSPORTATION

Marsden Point is home to New Zealand's northernmost commercial multipurpose deepwater port Northport. Northport is also the closest port to most of New Zealand's international markets. Road Transport to the region is via the countries major arterial roading network State Highway One and we are less than two hours from Auckland International airport and 30 minutes from Whangarei domestic airport.

INDUSTRY

The business sector is comprised of a mixture of both heavy and light industrial, agricultural, commercial and retail. The existing major industries are Refining New Zealand ( New Zealand's only oil refinery), Northport (deepwater port) and Carter Holts LVL plant. Other industries include timber treatment and processing plants, specialised plastics manufacturing, engineering and building firms. The town centre, Ruakaka, has a thriving and growing commercial and retail sector comprised of a medical centre, supermarket, butcher, cafe's and specialty stores.

HOUSING | EDUCATION | RECREATION

The Greater Marsden Point area is experiencing phenomenal growth as many families from neighbouring cities discover just how affordable it is to own property and live in the region. As well as a number of established subdivisions like those at One Tree Point and Ruakaka Surf Beach there are several large residential developments underway, notably Hopper Developments canal lifestyle living at Marsden Cove which includes a retirement village, plus a new stage development at Ruakaka Town centre. We have early education centres, two primary schools and one secondary school in the immediate vicinity and 30 mins north in Whangarei City Northtec tertiary education offers courses up to degree level. Marsden Point is home to New Zealand's largest fishing competition, the surrounding ocean is home to some of the best sports fishing, diving and surfing on offer. There are a number of clubs and recreational facilities including, surf life saving, horse racing, golf, football, league, motocross, martial arts and hiking.
